Rules & Regulations

$135.00 Angler Entry Fee

Optional Pools $100 Per Species

1. Only Legal Halibut, White Sea Bass and Calico Bass will be weighed in.

2. Entrants must comply with all applicable State and Federal Laws and regulations.

3. Captain’s check-in Friday night June 3rd between 5:30pm to 7:30pm at PCYC. Each boat must have a representative present to sign in.

4. 50% of entry fees plus 100% of the pool money will be paid out if qualifying fish are caught and weighed in for each class. (Except for junior entries)

5. If no fish or qualifying fish are weighed in then 100% of the pool money will be refunded.

6. All pool money must be paid in cash at the Friday night Captain’s check-in. No pool money will be accepted after the captain’s check-in.

7. The pool money is for both days (not daily)

8. Any fish weighed on Saturday will need to be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

9. All fish must be caught on a rod and reel, IGFA rules apply. Trap hooks may be used only if embedded in bait.

10. Fishing starts Friday, at 8:30pm, at the Channel Island Harbor entrance. All fish must be submitted for weigh-in at the PCYC scale by 4:00pm Sunday.

11. No commercial boats are allowed in tournament with commercial Gear on board.

12. Scale will be open from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Saturday. Only one fish per species may be weighed on each day. If a team does not weigh in a fish on Saturday, only one fish per entry may be weighed on Sunday.

13. Calico Bass must be weighed alive or a 10% weight penalty will apply.

14. Prizes will be awarded based on weight. In case of a tie, prize split 50/50.

15. No prop cut or mutilated fish will be weighed in.

16. For determining a Grand Slam prize winner, points will be awarded for the 3 species. White Sea Bass and Halibut will be 10 points per pound and Calico 30 points per pound. One legal fish from each of the three species must be weighed in to win the Grand Slam.

17. All fish weighed in will be subject to identification markings and other inspections deemed necessary, including removal of internal or external organs.

18. Channel 18 will be the tournament channel. If a problem arises we will switch to channel 7.

19. Fishing Boundaries are Pt. Conception out of Santa Rosa Island south to Pt. Dume including Santa Barbara Island.

20. No fish may be transferred from one boat to another.

21. All entrants’ boats are required to display tournament flags at all times.

22. Please have consideration for other teams while fishing. Good sportsmanship should always prevail. Tournament committee will not police this.

23. Weighed in fish will have a fin cut from tail.

24. Do not discard fish carcass in harbor.

25. Entrants’ name changes can be made at Captain’s check-in.

26. Teams shall be limited to five (5) members. Any team which is found in violation of the rules will be disqualified from the tournament. All persons on the tournament boat must be registered anglers. Decisions of the judge will be final.

27. Prizes will be paid at the tournament dinner Sunday June 5th 2010. Prize winners must be present o claim prize winnings. Prizes will be paid to team captains.

28. Special junior entry fee of $70 for persons 15 years or younger. Junior winners in each category awarded non-cash prize. Juniors do not count as one of the five team members on a team. A maximum of 2 juniors will be allowed on each team.

29. Any protest must be presented to a tournament director by 4:00 pm Sunday, June 5th.

30. All entrants’ agree that PCYC or the tournament sponsors may use the entrants’ name or photograph for publicity purposes without compensation to the entrant.

31. Due to limited space, tournament will be limited to 60 boats or 300 anglers FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

PCYC MAKO OPEN TOURNAMENT RULES

Captains meeting Friday night 6pm at PCYC, Each boat must have a representative present. Raffle, Taco Bar, Discussion, Pool Entry and tall tails

1. Only Mako Sharks will be weighed in.

2. Only one prize paid per boat, except for daily pools.

3. 90% of entry fee plus 100% of pool money will be paid out if a qualifying fish is caught and weighed in.

4. If no qualifying fish is weighed in, 90% of the entry fee and 100% of the daily pool money will be refunded.

5. All pool money must be paid in cash at the Friday night captains meeting. No pool money will be accepted after the captains meeting.

6. You must be in the first day pool, to be in the second day pool.

7. Should there be no qualifying fish the first day, all pool money rolls over to the second day.

8. Should there be only one qualifying fish for two days of fishing:

Caught the first day, boat takes all the purse money and all the first days pool money for the pools they are entered in.

Caught the second day, boat takes all the purse money and all the pool money for the pools they are entered in. All remaining pool money is refunded in both cases.

9. If two qualifying sharks are caught, each will receive their appropriate purse money plus spilt 50/50 the remaining purse money.

10. In case of weight tie, first fish caught and called in will prevail.

11. 65lb minimum qualifying weight, approximately 60 inches from nose to V in tail. Please release the small sharks

12. No shooting of sharks allowed, Any bullet holes found in the shark will disqualify the fish and the team.

13. Leave the hook and leader in or on the fish. No hook and leader, no weigh in.

14. All IGFA rules apply, 130-lbs. line test maximum.

15. Any and all protest must be filed in writing to the tournament committee by 7pm Saturday and by 5pm Sunday. Committee will rule and the ruling will be final.

16. Call in hooked and boated fish only. Give grid location when hooked and length of fish from nose to V in tail when boated. Called in fish length must be within 6 inches of length when measured at scale.

17. No prop cut or mutilated fish will be weighed in.

18. Channel 18 will be the tournament channel, if a problem arises we will switch to channel 7

19. Shotgun starts 6am Saturday and Sunday. Stop fishing Saturday is 5pm and Sunday is 4pm. No overnight fishing. You must stop and start at Channel Island Harbor each day.

20. Shotgun start: Line up between the Channel Island and Port Hueneme breakwater with in 1.5 miles of shore. Each boat must pass by the committee boat at the harbor entrance before lining up outside. Committee boat will be at entrance at 5:30am. Roll call will be at 5:45am and start fishing at 6am

21. If you are late for the inspection and roll call, you must find a committee boat before you can start fishing.

22. Please observe a 5 minute radio silence before stop fishing each day.

23. Stay in the boundaries of the grid map, any boat found outside the grid area will be disqualified.

24. No fish, gear, supplies, or people may be transferred from one boat to another.

25. All fish to be weighed in must be confirmed by tournament control. Confirmed fish must be weighed in that day.

26. Please have consideration for other teams chum lines. Good sportsmanship should always prevail. Tournament committee will not police this.

27. Weighed in fish will have a fin cut from tail.

28. Do not discard fish carcass in harbor.

29. Scales will close two hours after stop fishing. You must be in line and verified should weigh in take place after 2 hour time limit. There will be no exceptions.

30. Teams shall be limited to 5 anglers. Any team, which is found in violation of the rules, will be disqualified from the tournament.

31. Any person on any boat that is not the Captain or Anglers may not touch rod, reel or gaff at any time.

32. Once tournament has started - no changing of Captain or Anglers at any time after the gun shot starts.
