More "iron" history

STARMAN CANDY BARS were originally made in Manhattan Beach, Ca. by Dave Manning and Herbert Stark. Their first attempt @ making lures was to try and modify bone jigs. Then they tried plastic w/out success. Instead they started casting lures w/ their first model being the single hook Starman 101. The starman candy bar 110 single hook followed. The 112 was the treble hook version of the 110. Note that the 1st candy bar jigs were designed and tested by Captain Dick Shaver aboard the Hornet out of pierpoint landing in Long Beach in 1952. The jigs were intoduced in a See's candy box(hence the name). The jigs went on the market in 1953(101 &110). In late 53' the 150 was introduced. 56' brought the 112 and 57' the 200.
